CHC52021 – Diploma of Community Services

Course Description

This qualification reflects the roles of community services, case management and social housing workers involved in the managing, co-ordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities. At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management; program coordination or the development of new business opportunities.

  • Coordinator of Volunteer Work/Recreation/Disability
  • Family/Welfare Support Worker, Disability Team Leader
  • Early Intervention/Youth Worker, Pastoral Care Counsellor

Total number of units = 20 (12 Core and 8 Electives)

Duration

78 weeks (60 weeks of delivery + 18 weeks of holiday)

A minimum of 200 hours of practical placement hours to be completed

Enrolment Application Fee (not refundable):

$250 is to be paid with the first installment and is additional to the tuition fees.

Material Fee

A Material Fee of $450 is to be paid with the first installment of the fees. This is not included in the full deposit and is additional to the payment plan below. The material fees include uniform, practical kit, and course content.

6 Instalments: $2,250 each to be paid before the start of each term.

Selection Criteria

Be over the age of 18
Minimum of IELTS 5.5 score or equivalent
Applicants are required to undertake a course Entry requirement test (CERT) and obtain a minimum of 50% to be deemed eligible to enter the course
